Amanyara is a class 0 potion found in The Catalog. It is an inhibitor drug which creates a state of relaxation and well being within the drinker.
Its relaxation properties make it somewhat similar to sedatives, but its true value comes from its ability to induce dreamless sleep. Ingesting the potion will result in a feeling of drowsiness, which if indulged, will result in a magically induced period of sleep.
The length of the sleep will differ based on how much of the potion is consumed, but varies from a few hours (a small sip) to an entire day (the entire bottle).
The drowsiness effects can easily be resisted, and will fade if the drinker is not actively trying to rest.
In Combat[]
The potion has a very low boiling point, and will slowly convert into a mist if the magical seal on the bottle is broken.
If inhaled by a creature, the mist will cause the creature to become relaxed, preventing it from making any sort of intensive action (combat, sprinting, climbing, etc). Each turn, a DC 15 constitution check is made to see if the creature breaks out of the trance.
Brewing[]
The primary ingredient of Amanyara is a root called Felonwood. When exposed to air, Felonwood roots will will release a muscle relaxant gas. When the root is magically strengthened and then diluted into water, its properties are strong enough to induce dreamless sleep. The brewing process is relatively simple and doesn't even require an open flame. Simply douse the root in alchemical water until it has reached the required potency. Note that over soaking will cause the effects to go from dreamless sleep to coma and potentially even death, so it is important to closely monitor the amount of brewing time.
